Light management has a high potential to enrich and structure the barn environment of the birds. Birds perceive their environment differently than humans, as they can see more ultraviolet and infrared light. Barns that are too bright cause stress to the animals, which can quickly lead to health problems, such as cardiovascular problems. In order for the animals to be able to orientate themselves in the barn (to find feed and water), sufficient lighting in the animal area must be ensured.
